Bob Iger Honored with First-Ever Make-A-Wish Lifetime Achievement Award

Iger recently stepped down as CEO but remains Senior Advisor and a member of the Disney Board. The award is in “recognition of his extraordinary contributions” to Make-A-Wish. During Iger’s tenure as CEO, Disney helped grant more than 110,000 wishes. In 2025 alone, Disney provided Make-A-Wish with $30 million of support.

Leslie Motter, president and CEO of Make-A-Wish America, presented the award to Iger.

Current Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro is on the Make-A-Wish board and recently shared, “Disney spreading joy when it’s needed most, that’s always been part of our DNA, it’s been part of our DNA since the very beginning, and we’ve been doing it for over 40 years. And then just on a personal level, this is something—it hits home for me. I’m a Make-A-Wish board member and also an uncle of a niece who is a Make-A-Wish child. I’ve seen first hand how powerful a wish can be.”

Disney is currently celebrating Disney Week of Wishes, honoring their long-standing partnership with Make-A-Wish. D’Amaro greeted a wish kid who recently visited Disney Animation and met his hero, Eric Goldberg.

The Wishes Assemble event took place throughout Disneyland Resort with appearances by actors like Anthony Mackie and content creators like MrBeast.

Several Disney social media profiles are currently sporting icons drawn by wish kids. And Walt Disney World revealed their reimagined Wish Lounge.
