Disney Shares Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Writing Process for ‘Bluey’s Best Day Ever’

Disney Live Entertainment posted a video about how the script for Disneyland’s new show “Bluey’s Best Day Ever” was created.

Writing Process for Bluey’s Best Day Ever

Show Writer Scott narrated the writing process his team went through to create the script for “Bluey’s Best Day Ever.” Many writing sessions were spent iterating on each human character to make sure they accurately represented a character from the show.

One of his favorite characters to work on was Unicorse. When developing the Unicorse Game Show, the team had workshops to see what jokes landed well and which ones didn’t. As Scott noted, “Writing is throwing something on a page, trying it out, and if it doesn’t work, finding a new solution.”

“Bluey’s Best Day Ever!” began performances on March 22. The theater has been transformed into the grounds of Bluey’s school, hosting a fair with games and music from Bluey episodes. Bluey and her sister Bingo will appear live on stage throughout the day with a troupe of comedic actors and musicians.

Two versions of this show rotate performances at Disneyland. Show 1 features The Grannies and Unicorse, while Show 2 features Chattermax and Unicorse.
