Disney Unveils ‘Infinity Vision’ Certification for Premium Large Format Theaters

Disney announced today at CinemaCon that they are partnering with premium large format theaters (PLF) to create a new certification called “Infinity Vision.”

The new “Infinity Vision” certification will signify to audiences which theaters offer the “biggest, brightest, and most immersive cinematic experiences.” The certification focuses on the following:

  • Largest screens for maximum scale
  • Laser projection for superior brightness and clarity
  • Premium audio formats for fully immersive sound

There are over 75 domestic and 300 global PLFs currently available for moviegoers to choose from. “Infinity Vision” will be available first with the September 2026 re-release of Marvel’s Avengers: Endgame, and then the December release of Avengers: Doomsday.

“Disney’s standards for production quality are second to none, with every single detail of a film finely tuned for an immersive experience,” Andrew Cripps, head of theatrical distribution for The Walt Disney Studios, said in a release. “’Infinity Vision’ certification extends that commitment to the theaters themselves, representing a shared effort between The Walt Disney Studios and the exhibition community to help audiences quickly find the very best screens in their area to experience our films in exactly the way they’re designed to be seen – on a huge screen with the sharpest, clearest color and sound.”

The partnership will also bring additional marketing opportunities and further special offers for audiences at participating theaters. Certified theaters will have “Infinity Vision” branding online and on-site to alert audiences of their certification status.
