Disney Wish Reportedly Returned to Port Canaveral Early for Crew Member Medical Emergency

The Disney Wish cruise ship reportedly returned to Port Canaveral, Florida on Thursday evening, April 23, due to a crew member medical emergency. The ship was originally planned to return to port on Friday morning.

X user Nick (@MagicalNewsLIVE) posted from the ship last night, “Due to a medical emergency onboard, the Disney Wish will arrive in Port Canaveral tonight around 8pm but will not debark Guests until our planned time tomorrow morning.”

That means the sailing was not cut short but guests didn’t get ocean views all night as originally planned.

In response to another user’s question about sending the Coast Guard or a helicopter to pick up the affected crew member, Nick clarified, “It wasn’t ‘urgent’ per se, but a Crew Member required more treatment than what was available onboard.”

The ship docked at Port Canaveral’s Cruise Terminal 10 overnight. Guests reportedly debarked as scheduled on Friday morning.

The Disney Wish, Fantasy, and Treasure currently sail out of Port Canaveral. The Disney Dream will move to the port from Fort Lauderdale next year. Sailings out of Port Canaveral visit the Caribbean and the Bahamas, including Disney Cruise Line’s two private destinations: Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point.
