The project was designed by the Walt Disney Imagineering teams in Paris to help soothe children in an often-difficult environment, providing a more playful and reassuring experience. Murals based on Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars characters can be found in different settings of the hospital, such as waiting rooms, examination rooms, doors, and more.

Special attention was placed on the way light interacts through glass so the designs could be integrated throughout the corridors, as seen with the Finding Dory decorations on the windows.

As a bonus, children can interact with the decor using the Disney Team of Heroes app, where the characters come to life on their screen.

The first phase of the project - the pediatric emergency department - was completed in early 2023. Since then, the entire pediatric department has been decorated. This milestone continues Disneyland Paris' commitment to hospitalized children, from regular hospital visits with Disney characters to inviting children to the Disney Parks when they are ready to travel.
