Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Debuts New Safety Video

The Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain queue at Disney’s Animal Kingdom now has screens displaying a brand-new safety video. Previously, guests only heard a safety spiel and were given instructions by cast members while boarding.

There are now four screens in pairs of two mounted at either end of the final hallway before the loading station. They replace illuminated panels that previously displayed fake travel posters and advertisements.

The screens display video of the ride and the Himalayas, filmed like a travel commercial and CCTV footage.

Text on one screen tells guests what to do while the footage on the other screen shows guests doing it.

  • As you approach the boarding platform an Expedition Guide will give you a row number.
  • Please proceed to the row number assigned to you.
  • Remove any backpacks or personal bags.
  • Board the train when the gates open, and fill the farthest seat in your row.
  • Children under 7 must be seated next to a companion 14 years or older.
  • Stow larger items and backpacks at your feet.
  • And smaller items in the cargo pouch in front of you.
  • Pull down the lap bar in front of you until snug.
  • Push up on the bar and ensure it is locked.
  • Have the exciting and fulfilling expedition of your dreams!

Most guests probably won’t stop and watch the entire video. As you can see, several guests walked past us while we were filming it. But it gives a little bit more context for new riders.

Audio of the safety information also still plays on a loop in English and Spanish.

Below is our Expedition Everest POV video including the former illuminated advertisements that were in this room. See them at timestamp 6:50.
