After the newest class of Disney Legends was revealed, a fan created a petition asking Disney to consider longtime voice actor Jim Cummings for the honor.

Jim Cummings has voiced hundreds of characters for Disney, from Winnie the Pooh and Tigger to Ed the hyena in The Lion King, Darkwing Duck, Pete, and so many more. Cummings can even be heard filling in for Jeremy Irons near the end of “Be Prepared” when Irons was unable to finish the recording after losing his voice. He has been a staple in Disney’s vocal canon for decades.
That’s why one fan, Jessica H., has launched a petition asking The Walt Disney Company to consider Cummings in their next class of Disney Legends.

For decades, Jim Cummings has provided the heart and soul to some of the most beloved characters in Disney’s pantheon. As a cornerstone of Disney’s magical storytelling, his iconic voices have brought Winnie the Pooh, Tigger, and countless other characters to life, enchanting audiences of all ages around the globe. Despite his extraordinary contributions, Jim has yet to receive the formal recognition he so richly deserves: being named an official Disney Legend.
The Disney Legends Award was established to acknowledge those who have made a significant, lasting impact on the Disney legacy, an honor that Jim indisputably warrants. Having voiced hundreds of movie characters, themes, and park attractions, Jim Cummings’ versatility and dedication to his craft have enhanced the Disney experience for generations, creating unforgettable moments and joyous memories that are quintessentially Disney.
In addition to his celebrated Disney roles, Jim’s talents extend to other renowned franchises, including Looney Tunes and animated classics, demonstrating his impressive range as an artist. His peers and fans around the world consistently laud his creativity and adaptability, recognizing him as a luminary in his field. Yet despite this widespread acclaim, official acknowledgment from Disney remains overdue.
