DLP Works has released several new details about the forthcoming Up attraction at the now operating Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris.

According to DLP Works, the rotating swing attraction is being built by Zamperla Group and was inspired by Tivoli Gardens, the Danish theme park. The ride will have a tilting canopy to mimic the sensation of flight, a nod to the film's flying house.

It also appears there will be ironwork featuring some of the beloved characters from the film. At the top of the ironwork is a balloon motif above Kevin, Russell, Carl, and Dug.

At the top of the rotating canopy appears to be Carl and Ellie's house. Balloon motifs are shown throughout the concept art design. The decorative metal framework and other artwork throughout are of the Art Nouveau style, linking the attraction to the early days of aviation. At the base of the attraction structure will be a fairground organ, giving the ride a unique sound that also places it in a historical context.

As you can see in the art above, there are also stained glass windows in the surrounding structure. This also looks like a nod to the colorful balloons that carried Carl and Ellie’s house away in the film.

The ride will feature 64 rattan-style seats across 48 positions. There will be 32 single seats and 16 double seats.

A garden will surround the attraction, which will include references to the zoo at which Carl and Ellie both worked, per DLP Works. However, this aesthetic also ties in to the garden elements seen throughout Adventure Way.

In Disney fashion, the queue is also being developed to be themed. For this Up-coming attraction, there will be four narrative zones outlining adventure as an overall theme. In the first section are childhood memories of Carl & Ellie, such as their aviator goggles or their shared adventure book.

Next is a section devoted to global exploration, after which guests see their earned “Aviation Badge,” which is a nod to Russell’s Wilderness Explorer badges. Finally, the queue ends with the aesthetic of Carl’s balloons, which leads them to the similarly themed attraction.
