Wind is expected to move northeast to east-northeast with gusts of 15 mph, with frequent higher gusts of 20-25 mph. Humidity is 28 to 35%, which is below average for the area. These conditions could create fires that start and spread quickly, as well as be difficult to control.

The following counties are under the Fire Weather Watch:

  • Orange
  • Seminole
  • Osceola
  • Inland Volusia
  • Northern Lake
  • Southern Lake
  • Okeechobee

Conditions are expected to last through the afternoon, ending at 6:00 p.m.

The National Weather Service strongly recommends against outdoor burning in the affected area. Any open flames, including campfires or outdoor grills, should be avoided. This may affect campers at Fort Wilderness. Theme park operations likely won’t be affected.
