Randy Newman Returns to Compose Score for Disney & Pixar’s ‘Toy Story 5’

Randy Newman continues his streak of scoring every film in the franchise, as he is officially returning for Toy Story 5.

Newman is composing the score for his fifth Toy Story feature, which releases on June 19. In the Toy Story universe, he’s most known for most known for the iconic song “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”

Buzz (Tim Allen), Woody (Tom Hanks), Jessie (Joan Cusack), and the rest of the Andy’s Room gang are challenged when “they’re introduced to what kids are obsessed with today… electronics!” New characters Lilypad (Greta Lee) and Smarty Pants (Conan O’Brien) join the cast.

With two months until Toy Story 5 hits theaters, Disney and Pixar are kicking off the countdown with a “Roundup Reveal Week” of upcoming official and collaboration merchandise.

Disney promises a week of “daily product reveals and teasers spotlighting exciting collaborations from fan-favorite global brands.” Featured merchandise will include toys, collectibles, apparel, and accessories.

Roundup Reveal Week isn’t the only lead-up event. Tickets are now available for Major League Baseball (MLB) Toy Story 5 theme nights. Walt Disney Imagineers say there are Toy Story 5 Easter eggs in the recently reopened, refurbished Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin ride at Walt Disney World.
