REVIEW: Esquites Loaded Chips Return to Paradise Garden Grill in Disneyland Resort

An oft-requested guest favorite, the Esquites Loaded Chips have returned to Paradise Garden Grill at Disney California Adventure. Do they still bring the flavor and the heat?

My first thought was…spicy! This was a lot of flavor all in one. The chips were crunchy and fresh, and the chili lime flavor was present, even when eating them alone. There is a lot of topping! The cotija cheese was exactly what you wanted it to be. The chili lime crema is the spicy component, and it is definitely a medium on a regular scale and a HOT on the Disney scale.

There is good flavor past the heat, which is always important. The corn is fresh and sweet, and nicely offsets the spice and tang of the other flavors, as well as being a nice texture contrast. Where this loses points is that, at the end of the day, this is something you can easily make in your kitchen, and $11 seems a bit steep for it when you consider the individual components. It is easily shareable (though very messy), and if you don’t mind heat and like street corn flavors, this might be a must-try for you!
