The piglets were recently born backstage at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. Red river hogs are among the most colorful and distinctive wild pigs in the world.

River Hog Piglets

Red river hogs are found in parts of West and Central Africa and are characterized by their bright reddish-brown fur and unique facial markings. It appears three piglets were born.

Dr. Mark Penning, Vice President of Animals, Science & Environment for Disney, posted some pictures on his Instagram page of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge’s newest additions, including shots of the piglets snuggled up together and bonding with mom.

Eventually, the babies will join the rest of the red river hogs and be visible to guests. Disney has celebrated the births of other red river hogs in 2023 and 2022.
