Well, the kernels start popping, and they don’t stop popping. Collectors keep watching, and the orders start dropping, especially for this 25th anniversary Shrek popcorn bucket.
25th Anniversary ‘Shrek’ Outhouse Popcorn Bucket
So much to chew, so much to see, so what’s wrong with a little novelty? AMC has revealed a new Shrek popcorn bucket ahead of the original film’s 25th anniversary return to theaters.
The collectible bucket is themed to Shrek’s outhouse, one of the most recognizable locations from the 2001 DreamWorks Animation film, which appears at the outset of the infamous gross-out opening sequence set to Smash Mouth’s “All Star.”
The bucket closely mirrors the original design of Shrek’s outhouse as it appears in the film. The brown bucket features plank-style detailing, uneven edges, and a crescent-moon cutout on the door. The door opens outward as another means of adding or snacking on popcorn, in addition to a top flap on the outhouse roof.
A removable Shrek figure comes with the bucket, which appears to be partly attachable to a small slot beneath the base of the outhouse, enabling the bucket to double as a display piece with the titular green ogre striking a self-satisfied pose.

The release comes a few days in advance of the 25th anniversary of Shrek. The iconic Dreamworks film will return to theaters nationwide for a limited time beginning Friday, May 15, 2026.
The anniversary screenings arrive as the Shrek franchise continues to build toward its next major installment. Shrek 5 is currently set for release on December 23, 2026, with Mike Myers, Cameron Diaz, and Eddie Murphy returning, and Zendaya joining the cast as Shrek and Fiona’s daughter.
