It’s Teacher Appreciation Week, and Disney is doing its part to honor educators with a special parade and grant awards.

Teacher Appreciation Week at Walt Disney World

Part of Disney Imagination Campus and ABC’s “Abbott Elementary” Teachers Celebration, fifteen teachers from elementary, middle, and high schools across the United States served as honorary Grand Marshals in a special parade down Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom on May 1, 2026.

The educators were the winners of the 2026 Teachers Sweepstakes presented by Disney Imagination Campus & ABC’s Abbott Elementary. Each teacher received round-trip transportation from their home to Orlando, a three-night stay at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, and two three-day Park Hopper tickets, along with a private reception with fireworks viewing.

Across four days, the teachers attended Disney Imagination Campus workshops and participated in sessions with Disney leaders, focusing on everything from performing arts to science, technology, and innovation as they explored new classroom approaches to timeless subjects.

But the experience didn’t end there. General Motors, in partnership with nonprofit DonorsChoose, awarded $150,000 in grants to the teachers to support STEAM-related projects in their communities.
