Lights & Speakers Installed at Cinderella Castle for Dave Matthews Band Concert in Magic Kingdom

More equipment has been installed in front of Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom for a Dave Matthews Band performance. The group will perform as part of a park-wide private buyout, which means Magic Kingdom will close early on Wednesday, May 13.

Magic Kingdom Early Closure

We saw some speakers and rolling installed a few days ago. There are now lights, speakers, and other equipment on stage but much of it is covered by black tarps.

Scissor lifts to either side of the stage are mounted with lights.

The area directly behind the Partners statue is blocked off by rolling planters.

Planters surround temporary scaffold towers with mounted speakers and lights throughout the Hub.

The buyout is for the SAP Sapphire & ASUG Annual Conference, which is from May 11 to 13 at the Orange County Convention Center. The conference ends with a private night at Magic Kingdom, including a concert by Dave Matthews Band in front of Cinderella Castle.

The event is from 7:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Magic Kingdom will close to the general public at 5:30 p.m.

The other three Walt Disney World theme parks are operating as usual. EPCOT and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be open to 9 p.m. Disney’s Animal Kingdom will be open to 6 p.m. with extended evening hours for guests of select resorts from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
