Star Wars fans watched over 33 billion minutes of the franchise in 2025, according to a report by media research firm Nielsen.

The number only accounts for U.S. viewers watching Star Wars on linear TV and streaming, so would be even higher with international viewers and home media.

Streaming accounts for most of the 33 billion minutes. Pretty much everything Star Wars (except the infamous Holiday Special) can be streamed on Disney+, including exclusive live-action and animated shows.

The live-action Star Wars movies were the most watched group, with the original 1977 Star Wars film, Episode IV – A New Hope, having the largest minute total of the group. This was followed by Episode I – The Phantom Menace (the first film chronologically) and Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. The latter was probably watched more than usual following the conclusion of Andor, which leads up to the film.

Speaking of Andor, it was the most-watched Star Wars live-action series. No surprise considering all 12 episodes of season 2 were released in 2025. It was in Nielsen’s Original Top 10 for six weeks running during its release and had a total of 7.4 billion minutes of viewing.

The second most-watched Star Wars live-action series was Skeleton Crew, which started in December 2024 and wrapped up in January 2025. The Mandalorian didn’t release any new episodes last year but was the third most-watched live-action series.

Star Wars fans watched over 33 billion minutes of the franchise in 2025, according to a report by media research firm Nielsen.

Nearly 637 million minutes of Star Wars content were streamed on just May the 4th 2025. Andor was #1 in that regard, followed by A New Hope, The Phantom Menace, and other films from the first two trilogies. Rogue One was #8, then Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld. The miniseries was released in full on May the 4th. The list was rounded out by Star Wars: The Clone Wars, which has a total of 132 episodes to choose from.

For different generations, The Mandalorian is the biggest title for Gen Alpha (ages 2-13) and Baby Boomers (ages 62-80). Gen Z (ages 14-29) mostly watched The Clone Wars. Millennials (ages 30-45) and Gen X (ages 46-61) agreed in watching Andor.
