Disney has released a new trailer for the upcoming series “Sofia the First: Royal Magic,” giving fans a first look at Rapunzel’s appearance in the premiere episode.

The newly released trailer showcases the next chapter in Sofia’s story, along with a special visit from Rapunzel, whose appearance is set to kick off the series in its debut episode. The beloved Disney Princess arrives to lend a helping hand as Sofia begins her newest magical adventure.
“Sofia the First: Royal Magic” follows Sofia as she begins attending Charmswell School for Royal Magic. While there, she realizes her magical abilities may be stronger than any other princess in the realm, setting her on a path to learn control, responsibility, and friendship in a new royal environment.
The series introduces several new characters, including Sofia’s classmates Princess Layla (Mela Pietropaolo from “Cocomelon Lane”), Princess Camila (newcomer Aaliyah Magcasi), and Prince Zane (Kai Harris from “Paw Patrol”), as well as Pepper, Sofia’s puppy-unicorn companion (Nate Torrence from “Zootopia”). Ariel Winter returns as Princess Sofia.
Fan-favorite characters are also back, including Princess Amber and Cedric, alongside Clover, Baileywick, Minimus, Queen Miranda, and King Roland.

In addition to the full series, a short-form companion titled “Sofia the First: Magical Friends” is now available on Disney Jr., Disney+, and the Disney Jr. YouTube channel. The shorts offer a closer look at Charmswell School, Sofia’s new friends, and the magical world she’s stepping into.
“Sofia the First: Royal Magic” premieres Monday, May 25, on Disney Jr. and Disney Jr. On Demand, with the first eight episodes arriving on Disney+ the following day, May 26, in the United States and select international markets.
The original “Sofia the First” debuted in 2012 and quickly became one of Disney’s most successful preschool franchises, reaching billions of viewing hours worldwide and expanding into thousands of books and products.
