Another Glorious Morning: ‘Hocus Pocus 3’ Officially In Development with Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker & Kathy Najimy

The Sanderson Sisters have clearly put a spell on us: Hocus Pocus 3 is officially in development with the original wicked trio back for a third round of Halloween magic and mischief.

Hocus Pocus 3 was first greenlit by Disney back in June 2023. In October 2025, Hocus Pocus star Bette Midler confirmed that she’d seen a “brilliant” script for a third and final film, making it a trilogy. Now, Deadline reports that Hocus Pocus 3 is “officially in early development” at Disney Live Action Studios.

All three Sanderson Sisters — Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy — are confirmed to be returning. No plot details are known at this time.

While the original 1993 Hocus Pocus was not an immediate success, it has become a Halloween cult classic in the decades since it was released. The Sanderson Sisters have gone on to star in their own stage show during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party at Walt Disney World, have Hocus Pocus-themed photo ops at Disneyland Resort’s Oogie Boogie Bash, and, of course, appear on lots of seasonal merchandise.

A sequel film, simply titled Hocus Pocus 2, premiered on September 30, 2022 — 29 years after the original — on Disney+. As noted by Deadline, the sequel set a Disney+ streaming record with 2.7 billion minutes of viewing in a week.
