Renovation Work Expands Across Disney’s Wilderness Lodge With Walkway Closures and Exterior Updates

Renovation and refurbishment work continues around Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, with construction impacting multiple exterior areas of the resort.

During our last visit to Wilderness Lodge, we noticed several guest pathways around the resort were blocked off, namely the main boardwalk leading to the resort’s dock.

The new woodwork coming to the boardwalk is part of a larger renovation effort underway across the resort. Construction walls, temporary barriers, and directional signs are installed throughout the affected areas, guiding guests away from closed walkways and toward alternate routes.

Work also appears to be continuing along the dock path. Much of the primary walkway leading toward the center of the resort remains ripped out, awaiting new board placement. The longer pathway has received fresh wood planks, as you can see in the visible difference at the end of the walkway in the above photos.

Scaffolding that was previously visible along the exterior of this building has been removed, and it appears that paintwork has been completed.

Elsewhere across the resort, we spotted personnel lifts raised to upper levels of the resort’s exterior as crews touched up building surfaces and window work.

Some degree of utility work also appears to be underway, as long wiring can be spotted across several buildings leading up to the resort rooftops.

The bulk of the construction is concentrated around pathways, exterior building sections, and waterfront-adjacent areas. Disney’s Wilderness Lodge remains open to guests while refurbishment continues.

Disney’s Wilderness Lodge is themed after grand National Park lodges of the American Northwest, with rustic timber architecture, stonework, wooded landscaping, and waterfront access along Bay Lake.
