Crews have been building a retaining wall in the Piston Peak construction site and are currently working on the section in the area across from Diamond Horseshoe.
Piston Peak Construction

The installation of a retaining wall, which began in mid-February, is now making up a large section of the perimeter of the West and South sides of the construction site. The first step has been creating a rebar and concrete base, then installing large sections of vertical rebar in the center of that base. The vertical rebar is then sandwiched between large concrete form panels and then filled with concrete to create the structural retaining wall.

In these new photos, the white concrete form has been moved into position along the next row of vertical rebar.

This white form has a standing platform and railings for the concrete workers to stand on. From there, like they have been doing, they will direct the concrete from a concrete boom truck into the gap that will be created when the other half of the form is placed on the other side of the row of vertical rebar.

A nearby crane lifts materials used for construction.
The construction on the Cars-themed area is well underway, named Piston Peak National Park and inspired by Pixar Animation Studios film Cars and real-life national parks, particularly the Rocky Mountains, Yosemite, and Yellowstone.

Piston Peak National Park will include two attractions. One is an off-road rally race ride, the other will be a more family-friendly attraction.
Behind Piston Peak, Villains Land ground has been cleared and acts as a staging area for materials being used for Piston Peak construction.
