The Hollywood Brown Derby at Disney’s Hollywood Studios is apparently getting an exterior refurbishment. Rolling planters and scrim have gone up around the patio.
Brown Derby Lounge Refurbishment

The patio is home to the Brown Derby Lounge, which offers drinks and bites. Rolling planters nearly block the patio from view, wrapping around all three sides.

Behind the planters, scrim is visible attached to the patio fencing. Over the planters and scrim, we can see that awnings have been removed from the restaurant’s wall. There are half-circles where the red awnings used to be.

Umbrellas that usually shade the seating are also gone. Bartenders at the lounge have said a larger shade structure would be installed over the patio. The work so far is in line with that rumor.

The Hollywood Brown Derby Lounge is still operating, but at the restaurant’s smaller side patio area, as seen above.

Disney has not announced details of the refurbishment.
