Daveigh Chase, star of The Ring and Lilo and Stitch, passed away yesterday at the age of 35. Chase had been admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles earlier in June due to malnutrition. However, her boyfriend explained that she had gotten meningitis and subsequent blood infections.

Chase’s former manager, John Ryan, claims that the GoFundMe her boyfriend Roy Hernandez launched after her passing is not going toward any expenses for the actress. Ryan alleges that Chase’s family is handling all funeral arrangements and cremation costs for her. He added that Chase’s father, John Schwallier, has “never signed any paperwork over to this so-called boyfriend.”

“That GoFundMe is not going toward ANY expenses for Daveigh,” he continued. “Myself, her father, her uncle and all of us close friends who knew her for decades are encouraging people not to donate to this page. This man making these claims brought her into the hospital in terrible condition and didn’t let any of the family know until she passed so he can control the dialogue.”

Hernandez, however, reportedly told TMZ that it was “100%” false to suggest the GoFundMe is illegitimate.

Daveigh Chase was born in 1990 in Las Vegas and began formal vocal and dance training as a young child. In addition to The Ring and Lilo and Stitch, she also starred in Donnie Darko, Big LoveJack Goes HomeSpirited Away, and American Romance.
