Disney is replacing the grass at Ray’s Berets in Disneyland Park. It was previously real grass, and they are transitioning to artificial grass.
Ray’s Berets Grass

Although the store is still open and accessible, scaffolding and scrim have gone up around the top portion and some of the side of Ray’s Berets.

Cast Members confirmed with us Disney is in the process of removing the real grass, which they used to water and cut, and replacing it with artificial grass.

It will now match the concept art more closely.

Right now, it is still real grass, but stay tuned as we monitor this project.

Ray’s Berets is cozy cabin shop, where Raymond and his firefly kin have filled their home with hats, caps and more. It’s located next to Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, where a young guest recently jumped out of a ride vehicle and slid down the 50-foot drop, in Bayou Country.
