Crews are starting to remove the scrim and scaffolding from The Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom. The facade has been completely covered in scrim since mid March.

Most of the scrim that previously covered the mansion’s tower and chimneys is now gone. There is still some green scrim (obscured by tree branches) around the pair of chimneys on the left when viewed from Frontierland. It looks like scaffolding has also been removed from around the rooftop, although some pieces still stick up above the printed scrim.

There are also pieces of tarp or scrim attached to the walls below the other pair of chimneys. On the central tower is the bat weathervane still intact.

The facade is expected to receive a minor extension but otherwise retain its appearance. The work is at least partially related to Piston Peak National Park, a new Cars section of Frontierland under construction right next to the mansion.

Construction markers were installed in the ride’s graveyard way back in July 2025, potentially related to a new path that will run between The Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. There were later replaced by construction walls.

The Haunted Mansion continues to operate as normal. Watch our 4K POV video of the ride:
