Scrim and scaffolding at The Haunted Mansion in Magic Kingdom have been extended to cover a pair of chimneys atop the building.
The Haunted Mansion Scrim and Scaffolding

The Haunted Mansion’s façade is now almost completely hidden by scrim. Printed scrim in the foreground features images of the mansion, but the scrim around the towers is plain green. It could be replaced by printed scrim later.

Last week, the central tower with the bat weathervane was surrounded by scaffolding and scrim. The weathervane remains visible above the scrim. Now the tower on the right with two chimneys is surrounded. The scrim in the foreground actually shows what the chimneys usually look like.
The Haunted Mansion’s façade is expected to receive a minor extension but otherwise retain its old look.

The work is at least partially related to Piston Peak National Park, a new Cars section of Frontierland under construction right next to the mansion. Construction markers were installed in the ride’s graveyard way back in July 2025, potentially related to a new path that will run between The Haunted Mansion and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad.
There were later replaced by construction walls. The queue was enclosed by construction walls and later received scrim around a gate, pictured above.

In the graveyard, construction walls replaced the markers in December. Scaffolding and scrim was erected in January.
Around the same time, Disney filed two construction permits for The Haunted Mansion and cleared the lawn of plants. Scaffolding and scrim then began to go up in front of the ride, connecting to the scaffolding in the graveyard.
The Haunted Mansion remains open during construction, and the sea captain character recently returned.
