The National Weather Service in Melbourne, Florida has issued a Heat Advisory for East and Central Florida for Thursday, June 18, 2026.

The Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. It includes Orange County and Osceola County, homes of Universal Orlando Resort and Walt Disney World Resort, as well as Volusia, Lake, Seminole, Okeechobee, Indian River, Sant Lucie, Martin, and Brevard counties.

Heat index values between 105° and 111° F are expected, with actual high temps from the mid to upper 90s.

There will be scattered rainstorms in the afternoon and evening. The heat will continue on Friday, June 19, with more severe storms possible.

Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses. Residents and visitors should drink plenty of fluids, say in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and take extra precautions if they are outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Take frequent breaks in shaded or air-conditioned environments.

Signs of heat stroke include confusion, dizziness, and unconsciousness. Heat stroke is a serious emergency and you should call 911 if someone shows symptoms.
