'Lilo & Stitch' Star Daveigh Chase’s Cause of Death Revealed

Daveigh Chase, star of Lilo and Stitchpassed away on June 16 at the age of 35. Chase had been admitted to a hospital in Los Angeles earlier in June due to malnutrition. Her cause of death has been revealed.

Daveigh Chase, star of Lilo and Stitch, passed away on June 16 at the age of 35.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s office reports that the cause of death for Chase was Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome or AIDS. Chronic polysubstance use was also listed as “other significant conditions.” Chase died in the hospital and the manner of her death was listed as natural.

Chase’s former manager, John Ryan, claims that the GoFundMe her boyfriend Roy Hernandez launched after her passing is not going toward any expenses for the actress. Ryan alleges that Chase’s family is handling all funeral arrangements and cremation costs for her. He added that Chase’s father, John Schwallier, has “never signed any paperwork over to this so-called boyfriend.”

Daveigh Chase was born in 1990 in Las Vegas and began formal vocal and dance training as a young child. In addition to The Ring and Lilo and Stitch, she also starred in Donnie Darko, Big LoveJack Goes HomeSpirited Away, and American Romance.
