Tom Holland’s 'Spider-Man: Brand New Day' Suit Coming to Marvel’s 'Spider-Man 2' as Free In-Game Update

The MCU’s newest Spider-Man suit is coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, because Peter Parker apparently still has room in the closet.

“Fresh Start” Suit Coming to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Insomniac Games has announced that the new “Fresh Start” suit from Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be added to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as a free update on July 28 for PlayStation 5 and PC.

Insomniac Games has announced that the new “Fresh Start” suit from the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be added to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 as a free update on July 28 for PlayStation 5 and PC.

The new suit is based on the costume worn by Peter Parker in the latest Spider-Man film. It features a more comic-traditional red-and-blue color scheme, raised webbing, and prominent wrist web-shooters.

The suit’s look overall blends the earlier high-tech suits donned by Tom Holland’s Peter Parker with a brighter and more comic-faithful style.

A free game update will allow players to swing through Marvel’s New York in the same costume featured in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, just a few days before the film arrives in theaters.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 originally launched for PS5 in 2023 before later coming to PC. The Insomniac Games sequel follows both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable Spider-Men, with the two heroes facing Kraven the Hunter, Venom, and the looming threat of the symbiotes.

The game is also known for its massive collection of alternate Spider-Man suits.

Peter’s expansive in-game wardrobe already includes the Symbiote Suit, Anti-Venom Suit, Classic Suit, Scarlet Spider Suit, Superior Suit, Arachknight Suit, and many, many more inspired designs that span the long history of Spider-Man comic stories and film franchises.

Miles also has his own wide selection of alternate looks, including several from the more recent animated Spider-Verse series.

Connection to Spider-Man: Brand New Day

Notably, the addition of the "Fresh Start" suit reframes the previous new Spidey suit seen in the MCU.

Notably, the addition of the “Fresh Start” suit reframes the previous new Spidey suit seen in the MCU.

Already available in-game is the “New Red and Blue Suit,” inspired by the costume Peter Parker handcrafts and wears during the final swing sequence of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

That suit marked the end of Holland’s previous Spider-Man film and visually set up a more independent, homemade era for the character.

The fact that the Brand New Day costume is being added as the distinct and separate “Fresh Start” suit appears to confirm that this is (at least) the second handcrafted suit made by Peter Parker following the events of No Way Home.

Spider-Man: Brand New Day will continue Tom Holland’s story after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, in which the world forgot Peter Parker following Doctor Strange’s spell. The new film places Peter in a world where he is effectively starting over, with the title and suit both emphasizing a new era for the MCU’s Spider-Man.

The suit update was announced alongside the latest trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day, giving fans a new look at Holland’s Peter Parker in action before they can use the costume in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 31, but fans can plan their novelty purchases ahead of time thanks to our earlier coverage of theater-exclusive collectibles.
