The latest installment in the Toy Story franchise is enjoying steady success at the box office as it enters its second weekend.
Toy Story 5 Box Office Success

After opening to the biggest domestic debut of 2026, the latest Disney and Pixar sequel is expected to remain at the top of the box office in its second weekend. According to Deadline, Toy Story 5 is on pace to cross $300 million domestically this weekend, continuing a very strong theatrical run after its record-setting debut.
The film reportedly earned about $22 million on Friday (June 26) and is tracking toward an estimated $74 million second weekend. That would be enough for Toy Story 5 to hold first place over Warner Bros. and DC Studios’ new release, Supergirl, which is expected to open in second place with around $40 million domestically.
The latest box office update continues an impressive run for Toy Story 5, which opened last weekend with $160 million in North America and $152 million internationally, for a $312 million global launch.
That debut marked the biggest opening weekend of 2026 so far, the best opening in the Toy Story franchise, and one of the strongest animated openings ever.
Toy Story 5 reunites Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and the rest of Bonnie’s toys for a new story centered on the arrival of Lilypad, a tablet device that changes the way Bonnie plays. Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack return as Woody, Buzz, and Jessie, while Greta Lee voices Lilypad.
The film’s strong second weekend suggests that families are continuing to turn out for the Pixar sequel beyond its initial opening. It also follows a major streaming surge for the franchise, as Disney previously said the first four Toy Story films generated more than 60 million hours of viewing on Disney+ ahead of Toy Story 5’s theatrical release.
