Toy Story 5 is having its expected record-breaking opening weekend at the box office. Predictions estimated that the film would hit between $150-$175 million domestically. And, actual box office numbers confirm the movie brought in $160 million—right in the middle.
It beat out Universal’s Super Mario Galaxy Movie for the domestic debut of the year. That film made $131.7 million in its first weekend.
To date, Incredibles 2 (2018) is still Pixar’s highest-grossing opening weekend film, which earned $182.6 million in its first domestic weekend. Toy Story 5 is now second, followed by Inside Out 2 (2024) which grossed $155 million.
Internationally, the movie achieved $152 million. In total, that brings the movie’s numbers to $312 million worldwide.

Toy Story 5 follows the characters as they face a new enemy: electronics. Lilypad threatens to take over play time with Bonnie.
Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie and the rest of the gang’s jobs are challenged when they come face-to-face with Lilypad, a brand-new tablet device that arrives with her own disruptive ideas about what is best for their kid, Bonnie. Will playtime ever be the same?
