Construction is progressing on a new bus access lane outside Universal CityWalk Orlando, designed to give incoming buses a more direct path into the CityWalk bus terminal loop.

New Entry Lane for Universal Buses

Aerial photos from X user bioreconstruct show work underway along Universal Boulevard, where a new paved entry point is being built beside the existing CityWalk bus loop.

While sharing the new aerial photos of the construction effort, bioreconstruct described the project as a bus-only ramp directly from Universal Boulevard into the CityWalk bus loop, specifically identifying it as a direct access ramp for buses entering the loop from Universal Boulevard.

The new lane appears intended to streamline the current bus approach into the terminal. Once completed, buses traveling toward CityWalk would be able to turn into the bus loop earlier, rather than continuing up to another intersection and waiting to make a right turn back into the terminal area.

In the latest photos, much of the new lane has been paved or graded, with fresh concrete curbing visible along the edge of the work zone. Construction walls separate the project area from the operating portions of the bus terminal, and orange barrels line the adjacent roadway.

Given traffic patterns around Universal Boulevard, particularly during peak hours, and the length of stoplights at the nearby intersections, it’s possible this new entry lane could save riders minutes of time during their bus commute between CityWalk and other Universal properties.

The work also fits into Universal’s broader focus on transportation infrastructure. Earlier this year, the Shingle Creek Transit and Utility Community Development District voted to begin contract negotiations with The Boring Company for a potential future transit project, though that remains in the feasibility stage and is separate from this visible CityWalk roadway work.

No opening date has been announced for the new CityWalk bus entry lane. For now, construction remains active while the existing bus terminal continues operating nearby.
