Walt Disney Imagineering filed two new Notices of Commencement, both for the installation of “set elements” at the Carousel of Progress address (1205 Monorail Way). One permit contracts Icarus Exhibits while the other contracts ThemeWorks.

Icarus Exhibits is an “inclusive design / build company specializing in custom theming for fully immersive elements.” They’ve worked with Disney on Toy Story Land, TRON Lightcycle Run, Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, Rapunzel’s tower, and more.

ThemeWorks fuses “Art + Engineering to create world-class experiences” and worked with Disney on Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Their portfolio includes several Universal Orlando and SeaWorld projects.

Both permits expire in one year.

We previously reported on a Notice of Commencement for steel work at the attraction.

Carousel of Progress is getting all new scenes as it’s timeline is shifted forward. A Walt Disney Audio-Animatronic will now introduce the ride.

The final day of operation for the current version of will be July 5, 2026. The attraction will be closed beginning July 6, 2026, and Disney expects the overhaul to be completed in 2027.
