Disney Parks has released a new Disney Unscripted video outlining how Cinderella’s Castle was brought back to its classic look at Magic Kingdom.

Cinderella Castle

To begin, the video explains that Walt Disney said the parks would never be complete. It shows archival footage of the castle through the years and finally showcases the lengths to which Cast Members went to get the castle fully repainted. It involved a lot of man-hours, overnight shifts, and watching the temperatures to ensure the paint would dry properly and not run.

It even showcases how the Cast Members had to test projections against the colors of the paint. That way, the projection shows on the castle walls would still be the same as they were pre-repainting.

The castle repainting project was complete on June 4 after the full refilling of the moat. That was one of the final steps (if not the final step) of the repainting project at the castle.
