Both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood are going Back to Hogwarts for the new school year again. This year also commemorates 25 years since the first Harry Potter film was released.
Universal Orlando Resort
Starting August 1 through September 1, guests at Universal Orlando Resort can enjoy Back to Hogwarts, a celebration of the back-to-school season. You’ll see special events or added magic throughout the resort in its various Harry Potter-themed areas. Some of the things you can experience include:
- Howarts Always: A nighttime spectacular against Hogwarts Castle.
- Meet and greet: With the Hogwarts Express train conductor who has special school year advice for guests.
- Celebrate with a 25th anniversary Butterbeer mug.
- Grab a limited-time Wizarding World of Harry Potter x Build-a-Bag from Lug.
Universal Studios Hollywood
Also running August 1 through September 1, you can enjoy Back to Hogwarts at Universal Studios Hollywood as well. There are also park-exclusive, limited-time treats and merchandise to enjoy:
- Grab a limited-time Wizarding World of Harry Potter x Build-a-Bag from Lug.
- Collect a complimentary sticker and show your Hogwarts house pride. These can be acquired at Filch’s Emporium of Confiscated Goods. Please note these are limited to one per guest.
- Enjoy a Hogwarts House Linzer Cookie that comes in four flavors of raspberry, sour apple, blueberry, or lemon curd. Each corresponds to a different Hogwarts house. Gryffindor house will be available during the entire event, while the other three houses will be on rotation.
- The Monster Book of Monsters: On select dates during the event, guests can enjoy an encounter with Hagrid’s ancient book. Pet the spine of the book—if you dare.
During Back to Hogwarts at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood, guests can enjoy all the usual offerings of the Harry Potter-themed areas. Participation in the event does not require additional admission on top of a daytime ticket either.
