Big Boi Lumpia Co. Opens New Filipino Food Stand in Downtown Disney District

A new Filipino-inspired snack stand is now open in the Downtown Disney District at Disneyland Resort.

Big Boi Lumpia Co. at Downtown Disney

Big Boi Lumpia Co. has opened a kiosk in the district, serving both savory and sweet lumpia, along with drinks and a limited-time Apple Pie Lumpia flavor. The new stand is located in the kiosk area near Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs and the Downtown Disney Monorail Station.

The location soft-opened on July 3, shortly after Big Boi Lumpia Co. was announced for Downtown Disney in late June.

The new booth is a white kiosk with tan Big Boi Lumpia Co. graphics across the windows. One side of the stand features a large Big Boi Lumpia Co. logo, while the front includes an order window, a printed overhead menu, and additional signage advertising the limited-time Apple Pie Lumpia.

Black stanchions have been set up around the kiosk to form a queue. In our photos, guests were already lined up for the new Downtown Disney location.

What Is Lumpia?

Lumpia is a Filipino spring roll, usually made with a thin wrapper and filled with savory ingredients like meat or vegetables, though sweet dessert versions are also common. It can be served fresh or fried, but the Big Boi Lumpia Co. menu focuses on crispy fried rolls served with dipping sauces.

Limited-Time Apple Pie Lumpia

A separate sign at the register advertises a limited-time Apple Pie Lumpia. The pictured dessert lumpia is a golden fried roll filled with diced apple pie filling and served with caramel dipping sauce.

The sign does not list a price for the Apple Pie Lumpia, though we assume it falls under the Sweet Lumpia section of the menu, making it $13.50, similar to the regular flavors.

About Big Boi

Big Boi comes from Chef Barb Batiste, who is also behind B Sweet. According to the company’s official website, she previously established B Sweet as a catering company, dessert trucks, and dessert bar before expanding into savory Filipino comfort food.

The name “Big Boi” also has a family connection. The restaurant’s official history explains that it honors Batiste’s father, Angel, who was nicknamed “Boi.”

Big Boi’s regular Los Angeles location is on Sawtelle Boulevard, while the new Downtown Disney outpost gives Disneyland Resort guests a quick-service way to try the company’s signature snack.
