A Cast Member at Disneyland reportedly jumped into the Rivers of America after throwing in his keys and his walkie-talkie.
According to @amagicaldisneyday on Instagram, a Disneyland Cast Member threw his keys and walkie-talkie into the water and then jumped into the Rivers of America. The Instagram reel begins with him already in the water, swimming back to the shoreline. He can be seen wearing pants and shoes but had taken his shirt off at some point before the video had begun.
It is not known if he was disgruntled or if he was simply overheated. Disneyland reached a high of 90 degrees today. 90°F is considered a notably hot temperature for Anaheim, California, while average highs in the summer typically peak in the mid-80s. According to the Weather Channel, Disneyland is under a heat advisory until Monday, July 27 at 8 p.m. PDT.
The Rivers of America at Disneyland is a manmade waterway that loops around Tom Sawyer Island in Frontierland and is home to the Mark Twain Riverboat, a 19th-century paddle steamer that takes guests on a slow-moving 15-minute scenic cruise.
