I-4 Eastbound World Drive Exit Reconfigured Into Two Separate Ramps

I-4 Eastbound traffic exiting at World Drive has been permanently split into two separate exits. Now travelers headed to Walt Disney Resort from the direction of ChampionsGate will need to take Exit 62B.

New Configuration

As seen in the image above from MovingI4Forward.com, eastbound traffic on Interstate 4 exiting the World Drive exit has now been reconfigured into two exits, 62A and 62B.

As seen in the image above from MovingI4Forward.com, eastbound traffic on Interstate 4 exiting the World Drive exit has now been reconfigured into two exits, 62A and 62B.

Exit 62A will be for World Drive southbound, which will take travelers to Celebration, and Exit 62B will be for northbound World Drive traffic headed to Walt Disney World Resort. These two exits are now permanently separated.

Previously, as seen in the above Google Maps image, guests traveling to Walt Disney World from the West would exit from I-4 on one ramp, in yellow. That ramp would then split traffic into northbound to Walt Disney World or southbound to Celebration.

Previously, as seen in the above Google Maps image, guests traveling to Walt Disney World from the West would exit from I-4 on one ramp, in yellow. That ramp would then split traffic into northbound to Walt Disney World or southbound to Celebration.

Disney guests will now want to take exit 62B to reach all theme park and resort areas of the Walt Disney World Resort.

This is part of the larger Moving I4 Forward project by the Florida Department of Transportation. The project is expected to reduce congestion by widening I-4 from six lanes to up to 12 lanes, eight general use lanes (four lanes in each direction), and four express lanes. Interchanges throughout the project are being enhanced to accommodate the additional lanes being added along I-4, and the project will also improve operations and safety.

This is not part of the Floridian Way road construction we have been reporting on. Roadwork has progressed on that project to now include the planned closure of the intersection at Seven Seas Drive and Floridian Way. Barriers are in place along that intersection to prevent vehicles from either entering Seven Seas Drive from Floridian Way or Floridian Way from Seven Seas Drive. Floridian Way remains open in both directions.
