Following disruption outside the Oxford Street Disney Store overnight regarding the release of Disney Lorcana sets, the store was forced to close and cancel the release planned for today, July 17.

Lorcana Release Chaos

Fans began queueing the Oxford Street location in London 15 hours before the store’s opening today. People have reportedly been camping outside since 5:00 p.m. last night (local time).

According to one post on social media, the queue takes up four blocks and it’s unclear where it even starts.

The store was overwhelmed by the sheer number of people, and Disney Store was forced to postpone the Lorcana Special Edition release and close the store for the rest of the day on July 16 due to crowd control and safety concerns.

Today’s Lorcana Special Edition release at our Oxford Street store has been postponed and the store is closed until further notice.

Further information on how Guests will be able to purchase this product will be shared as soon as possible.

A second announcement was made to open the store later in the day today (July 17) and that Disney Lorcana: Curator’s Collection – Heroine Edition will no longer take place.

Following disruption outside our Oxford Street store overnight, we worked with local authorities to make the decision to open later than usual today.

We also want to let our fans know that the planned in-store release of the Disney Lorcana: Curator’s Collection – Heroine Edition will no longer take place today.

We understand how disappointing this will be for those who were looking forward to the release, and we sincerely apologise to everyone affected. Thank you for your understanding
