The expansion of the building near The Haunted Mansion now has exterior paneling and window shutters.

Haunted Mansion Queue Building Construction

The building, which is marked by a tower with a sloped peaked roof, was used as an extended queue for The Haunted Mansion until construction walls blocked it months ago. After the Mike Fink Keel Boats dock was demolished, crews began adding a steel framework to the back of the building.

The frame was then covered with plywood and sheathing. Now yellow planks cover most of the exterior. The wall facing Frontierland has three sets of white window shutters. A fourth is visible on the wall facing the mansion.

The new yellow paneling is a different color from the building’s existing blue-gray paneling. However, it’s similar to the shingles on the tower closer to the mansion’s entrance.

We don’t know exactly what this building will be used for once construction is complete. The extension is probably tied to a permit filed for the area Disney filed earlier this year contracting MLC Theming.

As for The Haunted Mansion itself, it remains mostly surrounded by scaffolding covered in scrim. The cupola has a new finish, as we saw when scaffolding was removed from the roof last month.

In the queue, walls recently came down from the graveyard, revealing rearranged gravestones.

The Haunted Mansion remains open.
