Universal Mega Movie Parade is back at Universal Studios Florida for 2026. The parade features classic Universal IPs like Jurassic Park and Ghostbusters, as well as newer franchises like Sing and Kung Fu Panda.
Universal Mega Movie Parade 2025
The Universal Mega Movie Parade has officially returned to the Universal Studios Florida entertainment schedule, though the latest run of the production was missing multiple characters, vehicles, and entire franchise floats during our latest visit to Universal Orlando Resort.
Universal Mega Movie Parade originally debuted in technical rehearsals during summer 2024. Since then, the production has frequently operated without some of its planned components. The Jurassic Park float and the Ghostbusters Ecto-1, for example, did not become part of the procession until several months into its inaugural season.
The parade’s latest return is similarly incomplete, with two full units and several additional elements absent.

The parade begins with performers wearing reflective tops and blue skirts. These dancers are ordinarily followed by a float covered in digital displays showcasing the Universal Mega Movie Parade title, but that opening vehicle was not included during this viewing.

Instead, the procession moved directly into its first movie-inspired section, Back to the Future.
Performers wearing futuristic clothing reminiscent of Back to the Future Part II dance ahead of the float, while skateboarders weave along the parade route.

The DeLorean time machine sits atop the float alongside Doc Brown. Marty McFly, who has previously appeared with him, has returned following his absence from our last visit.
Several familiar elements from the films are incorporated into the vehicle. A representation of the flux capacitor is positioned at the front, while the sides feature the DeLorean’s time circuits and a Lone Pine Mall sign.
The rear of the float resembles Hill Valley City Hall, complete with the clock tower and a lightning effect. The DeLorean’s recognizable “OUTATIME” license plate is displayed below the structure.

The Sing section follows Back to the Future, beginning with dancers dressed in brightly colored tracksuits.
Johnny the gorilla and Gunter the pig appear aboard the float. Rosita has also historically joined them, but she was absent during this performance, making her another missing character alongside Marty McFly.
Other figures from the Sing films are represented by stationary sculptures incorporated into the float’s design.

The Minions unit would normally arrive after Sing, but the entire section was missing. None of its floats or characters appeared in the parade.

With the Minions absent, the parade transitioned immediately from Sing into Kung Fu Panda.
Po and Tigress now appear on the franchise’s Chinese temple-inspired float, accompanied by performers demonstrating choreographed martial arts movements.
The Trolls section would ordinarily follow Kung Fu Panda, but that complete unit was also removed from the day’s presentation.

The Ghostbusters section remains mostly intact, though a major omission during our recent visit was the iconic Ecto-1. Several Ghostbusters performers, who would otherwise accompany the Ecto-1, remained to roam ahead of the next Ghostbusters float.
The franchise’s larger float features Gozer standing inside a supernatural gateway. Behind the villain towers a 16-foot-tall Stay Puft Marshmallow Man.
Egon Spengler and Winston Zeddemore walk alongside the unit, while Peter Venkman and Ray Stantz appear aboard the float as they confront Gozer.
This showing of the Mega Movie Parade also lacked the E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial section, which would ordinarily follow Ghostbusters.

Instead, we then transition to the Jaws section, transforming the parade route into an Independence Day celebration in Amity.
Sheriff Martin Brody and Mayor Larry Vaughn lead the unit, followed by performers including baton twirlers, drummers, and patriotic stilt walkers.

The float recreates the shark’s attack on Quint’s fishing boat, the Orca. Bruce, the film’s star shark, bursts through the damaged vessel at the center of the display.
Quint is positioned toward the back of the boat, desperately holding on as the shark destroys the vessel around him.
The final portion of Universal Mega Movie Parade is devoted to Jurassic Park and Jurassic World.

Normally, the section would begin with a small gyrosphere float carrying Claire Dearing and Franklin Webb. Unfortunately, this marked one last missing element from our latest viewing of the parade.
A raptor paddock follows, with Velociraptors contained inside the structure, and a Dilophosaurus represented along one side.
Owen Grady stands on a raised platform at the rear, watching over the dinosaurs.

The parade concludes with its largest prehistoric predator. A towering Tyrannosaurus rex roars from the final float while standing above a crushed Jurassic World vehicle.
As you can see between our latest visit and our earlier coverage of the Universal Mega Movie Parade, it is not uncommon for entire floats and character performers to be absent from this show.
The parade is scheduled daily through August 23. Though historically an afternoon parade, it will perform at 7 p.m. most dates this summer, and at 6 p.m. on June 12, August 15, and August 16.
