A partially enclosed dining area at Lotus Blossom Café in EPCOT has reopened after being blocked off for refurbishment earlier this year.
Lotus Blossom Café Dining Area Refurbishment

The left-side dining area of Lotus Blossom Café, the quick-service restaurant located in the China pavilion at EPCOT’s World Showcase, has reopened following a little over a month of refurbishment.

As of mid-May, roughly half of the restaurant’s partially enclosed dining space was unavailable to guests, with rolling planter boxes placed across the entrance to block access (pictured above). The seating area on the opposite side of the service counters remained open for guests during this time.

The closed, left-side seating area has since reopened for guest access, though the full scope of the work is unclear. From the updated space, the dining area certainly appears cleaner and refreshed overall.

Comparing the reopened room against the right-side seating area (pictured above) and older photos of the same space, the reddish tile floors in the left-side area may have been replaced with larger, newer flooring. Remnants of the older small tile segments can be seen in the entryway for the café’s restrooms.

A pink and blue mosaic-style flower design sits at the threshold of the reopened seating space.

Inside the dining area, the space retains its existing layout, with rows of metal tables and chairs beneath bright orange hanging light fixtures. The green tile wall and decorative vertical panels remain visible along the back side of the room.
Overall, the project appears to have been a smaller-scale refresh focused on this particular dining space rather than a broader restaurant update.
The reopened seating area should provide additional indoor/covered capacity for guests dining at Lotus Blossom Café, particularly as EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival 2026 approaches in the coming weeks.
