Universal Kids Resort Promises to Add More Shade Following Criticism

Universal has addressed the call for more shaded areas at Universal Kids Resort in Frisco, Texas. After media previews and its official July 1 opening, the kid-focused resort has faced complaints that there is not enough shade, particularly in the current summer heat.

In a statement shared by WFAA, Universal said, “We are always listening to guest feedback and will continue enhancing the park experience over time, adding landscaping and additional shade elements throughout the resort. Universal Kids Resort features a variety of offerings including outdoor attractions and indoor experiences, as well as multiple splash pads and play areas, restaurants, shows and merchandise locations.”

Frisco is experiencing temperatures as high as 100°F.

For now, the best ways guests can stave off heat exhaustion or heat-related illnesses are by drinking water, wearing sunscreens, and staying indoors when possible.

In addition to multiple splash pads, Universal Kids Resort has the water rides Bobbing Barrels and Bello Bay Cruise. Read our full guide.
