In mid-May, we first spotted the hot tub area on the hotel’s third-floor pool deck surrounded by temporary construction walls. The enclosure used a mix of white panel walls and exposed plywood, with a variety of construction materials visible inside.

The work area was located under the white canopy near the center of the pool deck, beside the main pool area and near the colorful Pixar Shorts Court.

As of our latest visit to the same area this month, those walls have been removed. The circular hot tub is now visible again, with the pool deck tiles and nearby fixtures all appearing reinstalled and refreshed.

The temporary plywood walls, tools, and construction materials seen in May are gone, suggesting the bulk of the construction work is complete.

Despite this, however, the hot tub does not appear to have fully reopened. An adjacent floor sign warns guests that the pool is “temporarily unavailable.”

No guests were seen using the whirlpool during our visit, though access appears to be unrestricted beyond this warning sign, so it’s unclear if this was a temporary closure at this point in the day or if the hot tub has remained closed following the removal of surrounding walls.

The nearby pool deck, lounge seating, umbrellas, and Pixar Shorts Court remain fully open around the space.

Earlier this year, the pool area closed for refurbishment for a few weeks, with hotel guests directed to use the Disneyland Hotel pool area during the closure.

The Pixar Place Pool, Crush’s Surfin’ Slide, and Nemo & Friends splash pad reopened in March after that refurbishment. At the time, the main pool was also open for guest use. The hot tub closure seen beginning in May appears to be a separate project centered on the whirlpool alone.

Guests staying at Pixar Place Hotel should check with the hotel for the latest whirlpool availability.
