DLP Works shared a new look at construction of the Lion King-inspired land under construction in Disney Adventure World at Disneyland Paris.

An aerial photo by DLP Works highlights various areas of the construction site, including the future location of the ride’s final drop. It will be a flume ride similar to Splash Mountain and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The tallest development so far is a building that will eventually house offices, technical rooms, and part of the ride. A water reservoir will be next door.

Near the park’s marina, Walt Disney Imagineering is testing different soils to see how they look. This isn’t far from a full-scale test model of the flume ride.

A ground-level look at the land gives a better idea of vertical construction. Columns and levels have been added to the back building, while new structural elements are near the front of the site.

The log flume ride will tell Simba’s story, incorporating bioluminescent technology, detailed environments, advanced Audio-Animatronics, and music from the animated movie. We recently got a look at character models for a scene with Simba, Timon, and Pumbaa.

An interview with Imagineers suggested The Lion King meet and greet characters could utilize similar robotics technology to the new walking, talking Olaf animatronic.

An opening timeframe for the land hasn’t been announced.
