“Luminous: The Symphony of Us,” the new EPCOT nighttime spectacular debuting in December, has been added to the Walt Disney World website. And with the new “Luminous” webpage comes new concept art and a description.
Luminous: The Symphony of Us
The Walt Disney World website says of “Luminous:
Feast your eyes on an all-new nighttime spectacular as it lights up the sky over World Showcase Lagoon.
The longer description, under the header “A Sparkling Spectacle,” reads:
Delight in a dramatic show designed to bring us all together. Marvel at a dazzling pageant of fireworks, fountains, music and lights set to an original composition. New music, along with evocative selections from the Disney songbook, come together to remind us that we are more alike than we are different.
The new show will debut at EPCOT on December 5, 2023. According to the Walt Disney World calendar, it will be performed at 9:30 p.m. each night.
“Luminous: The Symphony of Us” will replace “EPCOT Forever,” which is a temporary show that originally ran between the final performance of “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” and the first performance of “Harmonious.”
“IllumiNations” ran from 1999 to 2019. “Harmonious” debuted on October 1, 2021, for the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World. It had its final performance on April 2, 2023, after which “EPCOT Forever” returned for another temporary run.
“Luminous” was supposed to debut for the 100th anniversary of The Walt Disney Company, which took place on October 16, 2023, but was delayed, possibly due to the musical score.
“Luminous” fireworks dining packages will be available at Rose & Crown and Spice Road Table. We have seen fireworks barges and show platforms in World Showcase Lagoon as the show is completed.
