Two Empire Magazine covers and exclusive details have been unveiled featuring new images from “Star Wars: The Acolyte.”
The two covers — one for newsstands and one for subscribers — each give a new look at what fans can expect from “The Acolyte,” the “Star Wars” series debuting on Disney+ June 4. The newsstand cover features Amandla Stenberg’s Mae front and center, surrounded by Lee Jung-jae as Master Sol, Joonas Suotamo as Wookie Jedi, Kelnacca, and Carrie-Anne Moss as Master Idara. It will hit stands on April 11.
The subscriber cover, designed by artist Nada Maktari, is a “galactic refraction of a Force-fight between assassin Mae and Jedi Master Indara,” according to Empire.
Empire is also giving fans a closer look at “The Acolyte,” with new exclusive images from the series, and interviews with series creator and showrunner Leslye Headland, and stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Carrie-Anne Moss, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Joonas Suotamo, Rebecca Henderson, Manny Jacinto, and Jodie Turner-Smith. Headland shares that Master Indara, played by “The Matrix” actress Carrie-Anne Moss, was inspired by her character, Trinity.
Headland describes Lee Jung-jae’s characters, Jedi Master Sol, as “massively respected and incredibly powerful.”
With mystery surrounding the series’ title, Headline notes “The Acolyte” as “a position, essentially, that someone is going to fulfill, or step into.”
