Norway Pavilion Cast Members at EPCOT celebrated Norway’s Constitution Day on Friday, May 17 with a parade and photos.

Constitution Day is Norway’s national day, observed on May 17 each year since the constitution was signed on May 17, 1814. The constitution declared Norway to be an independent kingdom. It is one of the oldest written constitutions still in use in the world.

A group of people, some in traditional attire, walk and wave small flags outdoors near a building with a wooden, Nordic-style roof. Bystanders observe them as they pass by.

At 1:30 p.m., Cast Members paraded through the pavilion, waving handheld Norway flags and banners. Both on-duty costumed Cast Members and off-duty Cast Members joined the parade. Some wore “I’m Celebrating” buttons.

After the parade, Cast Members stopped in the courtyard outside Frozen Ever After and Akershus Royal Banquet Hall to take photos.

The Norway Pavilion has celebrated Constitution Day in years past, although Cultural Representatives were absent from EPCOT for a few years due to COVID-19. Most Cast Members working in World Showcase are actually from the countries they represent.
