VIDEO: Revamped “UP! A Great Bird Adventure” Show Debuts at Disney’s Animal Kingdom with New Humor

UP! A Great Bird Adventure has been almost universally panned since it debuted back in April in Asia at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Many a guest has cringed from the painful dialogue between live actors and costumed characters as the talented winged cast members performed their various acts. Disney has noted this and the show was mostly rewritten in an attempt to be funnier and more entertaining. The new version debuted over the weekend and we were there to check it out:

So, is it better? I don’t really know. It certainly seemed more interesting and less cringe-worthy, but it’s certainly not perfect. What do you think?

  1. I personnally liked the old previous show better. This one is more orientated to little kids. Disney has to remember that yes Disney is for kids, but us adults take them there. Go back to the old show. More birds, more flying plus was cute to see all the other trained animals in the show. This one doesn’t cut it for me.

  2. Still terrible. Even being able to fast-forward I was bored and embarrassed for the cast members.

We were fans of the original and thought the Guano Joe bit was funny. When we saw the Up version in person for the first time we were horrified. This newest ‘Up’ dated version moved the show from a grade of an ‘F’ to…well…Still an ‘F’.

Need to refocus on the birds (in a bird show). Get rid of the Up characters (they do not work in this show) and fire that God-awful ‘Indian Princess’.

  3. What a terrible show. Honestly. Disney keeps cutting back, they might as well just turn all their parks into a mall like Disney Springs.

  4. Seriously, the previous version of this show (Up) was worse? Our family has seen the original bird show offered years ago. This one pales in comparison. We’re returning to WDW in October and I’ve decided to remove this from my list of things to see.
