The Haunted Mansion’s exterior queue at Disneyland is undergoing a metamorphosis and new structures are now visible over the construction walls.

The Haunted Mansion has been closed since January and will reopen with its holiday overlay this fall. When it does, it will use a virtual queue while construction continues on the exterior, meaning work isn’t expected to be completed any time soon.

We can see the construction site from the Mark Twain Riverboat. Right next to the mansion are new brick walls.

There are two columns at the edges of the walls. One is completely covered in bricks, while the other is mostly covered. Some concrete is still visible on the top of the column.

There are several diggers and other construction vehicles to move dirt around. There is still a distinct lack of queue on the grounds.

The white columns of the Haunted Mansion’s facade are partially wrapped in plastic to keep them protected from nearby construction. Some caution tape is also visible hanging from railings and lampposts. Though the interior of the mansion isn’t under construction, there are rumors about changes to the ride.

The expanded grounds will still include the pet cemetery and hearse. The new gardens will be inspired by Master Gracey, Madame Leota, and the one-eyed cat. Each will have unique elements like a water fountain, gazebo, statuary, and greenhouse.

One of the white mausoleums at the exit of the Haunted Mansion has been stripped of white. A new carriage house gift shop run by Madame Leota will be in this area. See the concept art of the gift shop below.

The regular version of The Haunted Mansion is expected to return in early 2025. Hopefully, construction will also be complete by then.
