Hurricane Milton Officially Downgraded to Category 3

Hurricane Milton has been downgraded to a Category 3 hurricane as it approaches the west coast of Florida.

Hurricane Milton has been downgraded to a Category 3 hurricane as it gets ready to make landfall in Florida later tonight. Milton was a Category 5 hurricane as of Tuesday afternoon.

Though this is good news for Florida residents, the storm remains a serious threat to personal property and life according to the National Hurricane Center.

Earlier today a tornado warning was issued for Orange and Osceola counties. It was set to expire at 4:00 p.m. It was extended until 4:30 p.m., but it has since expired.

Both Walt Disney World and Universal Orlando Resort closed early today and will be closed tomorrow, October 10.
